My first project this semester was to design a water bottle with a second function. The predominant train of thought was to apply the inherent flotation properties of a water bottle to the design of a child's toy. This was the result:

i have no idea how they did this, but i like to think they filmed each frame and moved each individual dice by hand...

OOOMS | a few of my favourite things

These guys are dutch and my kind of cool. I wouldn't say all of their products are particularly useful, but they sure are creative, lots of fun, and i'd buy all of them. Here are my favourites...

Hairhats

City Hideout

Rebellious Cabinet

The drawers of this cabinet can never be fully closed. When closing one drawer, the one next to it will open a bit. If you want to open a drawer that is fully closed, you just hit, kick or push the drawer next to it.

Rollator

"With this nifty vehicle you can move fast forward when walking slow. Looking like a treadmill on wheels, the Rollator uses a special gear drive system to multiply your walking efforts and increase your pace. While you won’t look quite as cool as those hipsters tooling around on their Segways, you might end up getting there just as quickly."

a lecturer introduced me to this site a couple of weeks ago.

it's basically a really sweet flash application, full of statistical and historical data about the development of countries around the world.

which can be super useful if you, say need a quick trend or market analysis.

there's a heap of information available, from when/where natural disasters occur to which country has the best teeth.
